Scope / Description |
One black buckram hardcover postcard album. The center of the front cover has in white text "Post / Cards." Along each side of the front cover are debossed lines. The interior of the front cover has an obituary for Emil C. Kropp, the man who popularized photograph post cards in the United States. The title page reads "Sigurd Pedersen / 1907." Contents include greeting postcards and photograph postcards. Some relate to locations in the United States and in Denmark. Many of the photographs are labeled. The back of the album has loose postcards. 9" L x 6 3/4" W x 2" D This album belonged to the donor's father Sigurd Pedersen. Sigurd was born Svend Sigurd to parents Hans Jorgen Pedersen and Ane Marie Jepsen (Jeppesen) Pedersen. He lived with his family for a time in Michigan and later in Tyler, Minnesota. The donor, Allegra, was born in 1918 and was the granddaughter of Pastor Hans, and daughter of Hans' son Sigurd and Sigurd's wife Edythe. |
