Scope / Description |
Color tinted postcard of the Danish Royal Guard in Copenhagen. The scene depicts the changing of the Guard in Amalienborg square. The soldiers are wearing blue uniforms. Some are playing instruments, some are holding guns, and some are marching. An elaborate building is situated behind them. At the bottom of the card is a band of musical notes with "Fanemarschen." Below the music text reads, "København. Amalienborg. Vagtparaden. (Copenhagen. Amalienborg. Changing of the Guard." The postcard is addressed to Peter Madsen living in Exira, Iowa. The message is written to him in Danish. It has a postmark from København, but the date is not immediately clear. 3 1/2" L x 5 1/2" W |
