Both text and picture are upside down. There is a price tag in the lower corner to the viewer's right at the inside of the back part of the cover. Two newspaper clippings, a name tag in the shape of a leaf with Magda's name on it, two leaves, and a small blue note have been placed inside the notebook. All these items have been left at their original places in the notebook. Notebook: On the first roughly 30 pages Magda Laugesen describes the first part of her trip from Tokyo, Japan, to Denmark. The description is in Danish. She traveled by train from Tokyo to Nara, where she stayed some weeks, before she went to Kobe and got on a ship to Europe. They made stops in Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Penang, Colombo and Aden. She describes her departure from Tokyo where she has sold her house and her time in Japan before the departure, which was prolonged because a planned trip to Peking (Beijing) was cancelled. She describes the life on board the ship, and writes that she finds the company more pleasant that on previous travels. At each stop she gives her impressions of the city and writes about any excursions she has done with other passengers from the ship. The journal ends with a description of the ship's voyage through the Suez Canal. The journal is followed by a number of blank pages. Then follow a couple of pages with notes about birthday greetings for Magda's birthday in 1977. The headline is "Mandag April 3, 1977" i.e. "Monday April 3, 1977". These notes are mostly in English though there are a few Danish words. More blank pages follow, and then come three pages with the lyrics for three songs handwritten on a page each. The songs are "Just because It's You", "Song of the Baby dolls", and "Sing a Song of Sixpence". After a few blank pages come five pages with a drawing of a plant or flower on each page. The drawings are made by hand in pencil. The two first pages just have a drawing and the name of the plant, the next two have both drawing and name and then additionally some notes on the placing of the leaves, and the last page just has a drawing but no text. The next page has four plant names and instructions for drawing the leaves on each plant. This part of the notebook is in Danish. After this follow a number of blank pages. In the back there are four loose pages. The first three are blank. The fourth has two addresses in Copenhagen on the front side of the page, one in black ink and one in pencil, and on the back side of the page is a description of how to mix different colors, written in pencil. The next page has a list of items belonging to Aage (Magda's husband) with numbers next to them. Below this are two addresses, one in Tokyo and one in Copenhagen. After a couple of blank pages, a page with a list of names and numbers, possibly telephone numbers, now follows. The next page is the last, and it has a list with the cities that Magda visited on her journey in 1926 and the number of days it took to travel from each stop to the next. At the bottom of the page it has arrival and departure times for a few of the cities. This part of the notebook is in Danish. Between the two last pages of Magda's travel journal two newspaper clippings have been placed. On a page between Magda's journal and the list of birthday greetings a name tag in the shape of a leaf with Magda's name on it is pasted to a page. Two leaves have been placed in the notebook, leaf 1 between two blank pages and leaf 2 between some of the pages with drawings of plants.
