Description |
Silver metal hand-held seal. Long and slender body, a sort of flattened oblong shape with an extension off the back and a slightly curved handle at the top. At the front is inserted a disc-shaped portion that has two parts. Paper slides between the two parts, the handle is pressed down, and the two disc-shaped parts come together, imprinting the paper with the text on the seal. (See file for sample of this seal's marking.) On the underside of the lower portion of the disc is the maker's mark: "ART / POCKET SEAL / PAT. OCT. 23.23 / MADE IN U.S.A." The seal reads "HARMONIEN SINGING SOCIETY ILLINOIS / CORPORATE / SEAL". |
